VAGINAL BIRTH AFTER CAESAREAN
A woman who has previously delivered a baby by caesarean section has a vaginal delivery for a subsequent baby.
VENTOUSE DELIVERY
In a ventouse delivery, a suction cup is placed on the baby's head to assist the baby's passage through the birth canal.
VERY LOW BIRTH WEIGHT (VLBW)
A baby born weighing less than 3 pounds, 5 ounces (1,500 grams) and more than 2 pounds, 3 ounces (1,000 grams).
VITAL SIGNS MONITOR
A machine measuring and displaying heart rate, breathing rate, and blood pressure on a computer screen. If these vital signs become abnormal, an alarm usually sounds.
