Jirovec Triplets
Merrill, Wisconsin
The incidence of twins is one in 80, Triplets are one in 8,000.
The girls were born via Caesarian section within a minute of one another, starting at 8:43 p.m Monday evening, the proud new Dad reported.
"It's been a long road," Jennifer said, noting they'd been trying to conceive for six years and were seeking approval to adopt when she found out they were expecting.
Three days later, the Jirovecs learned they were having triplets and withdrew their adoption application. Although they were excited, Jennifer said every little twinge frightened them.
Jennifer had spent 18 days on bed rest at the hospital before doctors allowed her to go home Monday. "Three hours later, we were back," she said.
Jennifer was due Feb. 15; many women expecting multiple babies go into labor sooner, Modi said.
The girls ranged between 3 pounds, 7 ounces and 3 pounds, 13 ounces.
Jennifer and Rory Jirovec's Christmas presents arrived early, two months early, to be exact.
The Merrill woman delivered triplets Monday, December 17, 2007. The girls, Addison Ann, Brenna Leigh and Claire Lynn. They were the first triplets born at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in 30 years.
