Minnesota welcomed their first set of quintuplets on November 30, 2001. Their parents are Collette and Michael Christoffers from Moorhead.
The quints, Jacob Vernon, Bethany Grace, Robert Michael, Kevin Arthur and Alyssa Joy were born at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis and then transferred to Children's Hospital's newborn intensive care unit.
Four of the quints were welcomed home by big sister Emily, who was three at the time. Unfortunately Robert Michael never made it home. He passed away on June 6th, 2002 at six months of age. The premature quints lungs were underdeveloped at birth and they were given drugs to help stimulate growth. Bobby didn't respond to the treatment.
Throughout their ordeal they have remained deeply religous and with daily prayer and a supportive church they have remained committed to each other and remained strong.
